Scotia Whiting ( AU )

Hi, my name is Scotia and although I am only a 12 year old student, I am excited to help you learn the English language. I love to read and teach!

I have been to Japan recently. I loved it. I especially enjoyed skiing in Hakuba and shopping in Harajuku.

I have a dog called Nikki and two female chickens called Bea and Bob. I love animals so I decided not to eat meat (except fish).

English is in some ways a strange language but it’s useful and interesting to learn another language. I would love to help you with learning English.

Allison Matsuda Lee ( USA )

Hello, my name is Allison, and I am a fourth generation Japanese-American.
I studied Education and Child Development in my university, with the goal that I would teach children after.
I have lived in California, USA all my life, except for one year, when I moved to Japan to teach English to children.
My students ranged from eight months to seventeen years of age, with varying ability levels.
I loved my experience, and had developed better skill in communicating with people learning English.
I hope to talk to you soon, and help you improve your English while we get to know each other!

Interests: I enjoy traveling with my husband, and doing arts and crafts with my nieces and nephews.

Hobbies and interests: Running, biking, hiking, yoga, golf, traveling, art, museums, movies, music, cooking/baking

My name is Noreene Matsuda. I was born in California and I am a sansei.
My grandparents emigrated from Fukuoka to Hawaii, where both my mother and father were born. I can speak very basic Japanese, but English is my native language.

I graduated with a business degree from California State University Long Beach in 1988. One of my part-time jobs was a teacher’s assistant at an elementary school. I had fun tutoring and reading to children. I now work at Panasonic Avionics Corporation in procurement/supplier management.

I traveled to Japan two years ago for the very first time and loved everything about it. While in Kyoto, a Japanese college student approached me and asked if I needed directions. He was able was guide me to Nishiki Market and practice speaking English at the same time. It was a win-win for both of us!

I certainly welcome this opportunity to help and support students of all ages to learn English.
